You can sail yourself in Rotterdam on the quieter side waters such as the ferry port, the Wijnhaven and the Rotte, not on the Maas itself because of the busy international shipping.
You can rent the small sloop for 2 to 8 people. A license is not necessary: the boat sails electrically, is light and easy to control, and remains below the legal speed limit. You will receive a short instruction from the landlord about the operation, a map with the most beautiful sailing routes and the sailing rules on the Rotterdam waters. Then you get on board and decide for yourself how long you sail and which direction you take.
Depart from the ferry port and sail at your leisure along the old historic inner harbors of Rotterdam.
